We are a husband and wife team who are passionate about education. We believe that tutoring can really make a difference in a student's education as we have both seen it first hand.
Here's a little about us:
Alan
About me - Alan has a Bachelor's Degree in Business from Brigham Young University. He received a 5 on the AP Biology exam and a 4 on the AP Calculus Exam. He is currently working full time in Park City, UT and spent the last year teaching a religious class to teenagers.
Tutoring experience - Alan was tutored in math as an elementary student and later became Valedictorian at his high school and became a Hinckley Scholar at Brigham Young University. So he knows first hand how effective tutoring is.
Subjects he tutors - Alan can tutor in Biology, Pre-calculus, Calculus, middle school sciences, and American History.
Alexis
About me - Alexis has a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. She received an award for scoring in the top 5% in the history of the Praxis Exam (Elementary Education subject knowledge test). She was in the top 5% in her graduating high school class. She is a stay at home to 3 children 3 and under - so she knows how to multitask.
Tutoring Experience - Alexis tutored while she was in high school. She tutored elementary students in math, helped students complete homework assignments and written reports, and tutored Geometry.
Subjects she tutors - Math up to Pre-Calculus, all subjects in elementary school and middle school. She can help younger students on basic math skills they may be missing or helping them get all of their homework completed as well.
Rates and Schedules
Our current rates are $25 an hour.
Our available schedule is as follows:
We are working on Alan's work schedule so he can get home to watch our little children. Please let us know if you would rather have your student tutored Mondays and Wednesdays or Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Time slots are 3:30 - 4:30, 4:30 - 5:30, 5:30 - 6:30
We are planning to meet at the Wasatch County Library.
